2026 Ford Bronco Roof-Rack Installation and Load Limits

This page summarizes the roof-rack information in the Canada/US English 2026 Ford Bronco owner’s manual, edition date 202512. It is about the Bronco, not the Bronco Sport. Confirm that the manual matches your Bronco’s model year, equipment, tires, and rack before using any value or procedure.

Read the load table by driving condition

The manual lists these maximum recommended loads:

Manual condition Maximum recommended load
Vehicle in motion 50 kg (110 lb)
Vehicle stationary 204 kg (450 lb)
Vehicle with 37x12.50/50R17 tires 0 kg (0 lb)

The 204 kg entry is for the manual’s stationary condition; it is not a driving capacity. The 0 kg entry for the named tire configuration is a stop condition for roof loading. Do not assume that another tire size, Bronco trim, rack, or model year has the same table.

Separate moving, stationary, and tire-specific no-load conditions shown as distinct vehicle states.

The manual says to distribute the load evenly on the crossbars, keep the center of gravity low, and check load tightness before driving and at each fuel stop. Do not place cargo directly on the roof panel. Confirm any lower rack or accessory limit as well; the vehicle value does not prove that a particular carrier fits.

Use the Bronco-specific installation sequence

The manual’s rack procedure specifies 10.5 Nm for the front roof-rack fasteners and 8 Nm for the front cover fasteners. The rear fastener uses the supplied special tool, which stops at the procedure’s intended tightening point. These settings belong to the fasteners and Bronco rack arrangement described in this manual; do not use them on a different rack or vehicle.

The Bronco-specific front fastener and cover locations separated from the rear attachment using its supplied tool.

Follow the manual’s complete sequence and hardware identification. It also warns not to remove or modify the B- or C-pillar braces. If your rack, fasteners, supplied tool, or vehicle configuration does not match the manual, stop and have a Ford retailer or qualified fitter identify the correct procedure.

Before carrying a load

  1. Confirm the exact 2026 Bronco configuration and tire size.
  2. Read the load table and use the moving limit for a trip.
  3. Verify that the installed rack and accessory are the documented parts and that their limits do not reduce the vehicle allowance.
  4. Install and tighten only by the applicable Ford and rack instructions.
  5. Load evenly on the crossbars, secure the cargo, and check the system before moving and at each fuel stop.

Do not infer aftermarket compatibility, glass-roof approval, or capacity from this manual alone. If a value or rack approval for your exact configuration is missing, do not load the vehicle until Ford or the rack maker confirms it.
